In addition, the City’s TIF District #1 expires at the end of 2022 and will return approximately $20 million of increased property valuation to the general tax rolls. There will be a projected reduction in property taxes once the current casino relocates, however new downtown redevelopment underway and more projects being planned within district boundaries are expected to more than make up for this loss.
Once completed, the project is expected to have minimal impact on School District #131 (which serves the site of the existing casino barge on Stolp Island).
